Only 2% of Polymarket traders have ever made $1,000. We checked all 1.5 million wallets.
Out of 1,560,857 on-chain Polymarket wallets, just 37,629 — 2.4% — have ever cleared $1,000 in profit. Here's the full survival funnel, and how it lines up with the WSJ and Sergeenkov's 2.5M-wallet study.

Everyone's heard the pitch: prediction markets are where smart, informed people turn being right into money. So we asked a blunt version of it — across everyone who's ever traded on Polymarket, how many actually walked away with real money? Not "a profit." Real money. Four figures.
Polymarket settles every trade on-chain on Polygon, so you don't have to guess — you can pull the whole ledger. We aggregated lifetime profit across all 1,560,857 wallets. The answer is bleak.

Curious who those 2 are? CrowdIntel tracks all 1.5M of these wallets live — the rare winners ranked by real on-chain P&L, with their full track record. See the smart money — free →
The survival funnel
Start with 100 traders and watch them drop off as the bar rises:
| Profit cleared | Wallets | Share of all traders |
|---|---|---|
| Any profit at all | 321,000+ | ~20% |
| $1,000+ | 37,629 | 2.4% |
| $10,000+ | 8,384 | 0.54% |
| $100,000+ | 1,211 | 0.078% |
Most of the "profitable" 20% from our earlier breakdown barely cleared zero. By the time you ask for a grand, 49 out of every 50 traders are gone. By $100k, you're down to roughly 1 in 1,300.
The extremes
The gap between the top and everyone else is staggering:
- The single most profitable wallet has made $22.1 million. The single biggest loser has dropped $21.8 million — almost a mirror image.
- The bottom 10% of all traders are down an average of $3,705 each.
- The top 0.1% of wallets — about 1,560 of them — captured 71.5% of the roughly $1 billion in total profit. Everyone else splits what's left.
This isn't a bell curve where most people land near the middle. It's a power law: a tiny group takes almost everything, and the long tail just bleeds.
This isn't just our number
On-chain researcher Andrey Sergeenkov ran the same question across 2.5 million wallets and landed in the same place: only ~2% have made more than $1,000, ~8,000 cleared $10,000, and 840 cleared $100,000. Our independent pull of 1.5M wallets matches almost exactly — our $10k count (8,384) is within a rounding error of his ~8,000. The Wall Street Journal found the same shape reviewing 1.6M accounts.
When two independent datasets agree to the decimal, it's not a quirk of methodology. It's the base rate.

Verify it yourself
Don't take our word for any of this — it's all on-chain and public. Pick any Polymarket wallet and you can see its complete trade history and realized P&L: every bet, every market, every dollar in and out. Look up any wallet on CrowdIntel → and check for yourself whether it's one of the 37,629 winners, or one of the 1.5 million.
Methodology
Lifetime realized P&L per wallet, aggregated from on-chain Polymarket trades on Polygon. A wallet is in the "$1,000 club" if its net realized profit is ≥ $1,000. P&L source of truth is each wallet's reconciled Polymarket figure, falling back to our computed total where unavailable.
Limitations
- Realized, not paper. Open positions don't count until they resolve.
- Wallets aren't people. One person can run several wallets; "1.5M wallets" ≠ "1.5M humans." If anything, that makes the real human win-rate worse, since the winners tend to run multiple wallets.
- Lifetime, not annualized. This is total profit ever, not per year.
